Google Maps: Swine Flu

Here is an example of the web 2.0 tool, google maps being used on a global level to track the swine flu. I am going to give you the link instead of embedding it because this map loads slowly, but is a very interesting use of a web 2.0 tool.

iSAFE is a non profit group that advocates for internet safety. Teachers, parents and students can all take free online courses to become certified educators of the iSAFE philosophy.

Web 2.0-savvy teachers testing old assumptions

(CNN) — Teachers are often portrayed as being clueless about technology, but ever more of them are putting that stereotype to the test.

Clicked on to the classroom: Teachers are using Web 2.0 to broaden their lessons and find new ways to teach.

Web 2.0 technologies in particular have found a receptive audience among educators. Many use blogs to share ideas on teaching and technology, some of which might surprise students.

There are countless free resources Google offers. One of the is Google Docs. As an educator and as a business owner I use Google Docs every day because everything is stored online for me.
